Dr Farhad Ahmed

Biography

Dr Farhad Ahmed is an Assistant Professor in International Business and the Programme Director for MSc International Business at Maynooth University's School of Business. He received his PhD in International Business from the University of Dublin, Trinity College Ireland. Farhad's research interests lie at the intersection of Strategy, Entrepreneurship and International Business. Particularly, his research focuses on the interplay between institutional and entrepreneurial factors, and firms' early internationalization from emerging markets. Prior to his current affiliation, he worked as an Assistant Professor in International Business at Brunel University London and Monash University, and completed Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from Dublin City University, and Swansea University respectively. He was invited to track chair and present research papers at several internationally recognized Conferences and Colloquiums in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, Italy, Poland, Sweden and other locations. Winning several awards including the Emerald Literati Awards 2020 and the Best Paper Award in International Business Track at the British Academy of Management Conference 2022, Farhad's research works were also nominated for the Best Paper Award in the Academy of Management Conference 2021 within Gender and Entrepreneurship track. In addition to conference proceedings, he has published widely in several prestigious journals across disciplinary areas such as Asia Pacific Journal of Management, International Marketing Review, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour & Research, Critical Perspectives on International Business, Asian Business & Management, Journal of International Entrepreneurship, and Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Administration. He is the recipient Trinity College Studentship Award, E-COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) Grant and Brunel Research Initiative and Enterprise Fund. Farhad was invited to deliver guest lectures at the University of Dundee, LUT University Finland, and Amity International University, and has a track-record of reviewing papers for many ABS-ranked  top-tier journals, including International Small Business Journal, Journal of Business Research, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Thunderbird International Business Review and Management Decision journals. For his contributions to business education, he has been awarded with a Fellowship of the Commercial Education Society Australia (FCES).
