In between teaching contracts in Russia in 1996 and 1998, Mark returned to Ireland to study for the Trinity College London Licentiate Diploma in TESOL. In 2012 Mark took up a part-time position at Waterford Institute of Technology as a teaching practice tutor on teacher-training programmes, and also worked with Kilkenny/Carlow Education and Training Board, delivering TESOL and adult literacy classes.
