The All-Island Research Observatory (AIRO) undertakes contracted applied research projects in the area of socio-demographic and economic analysis, spatial planning and environmental analysis. AIRO also provides access to a range of free data visualisation and mapping toolkits that have been designed to improve evidence informed planning in Ireland.
Based at Maynooth University, AIRO is the leading spatial analysis and planning unit within the Maynooth University Social Science Institute (MUSSI). Operating since 2006, AIRO is now recognised as a national leader in spatial analysis and socio-economic research in Ireland. As well as supporting Maynooth University on internal data analytics projects, the AIRO team collaborate with Government Departments, Regional Authorities and Local Authorities across Ireland to support policy and planning initiatives.

Lonnaithe in Ollscoil Mhá Nuad, is é AIRO an príomhionad don spásanailís agus don phleanáil taobh istigh d’Institiúid Eolaíochtaí Sóisialta Ollscoil Mhá Nuad (MUSSI). Ag feidhmiú ón mbliain 2006 ar aghaidh, tá AIRO aitheanta anois mar cheannaire náisiúnta don spásanailís agus don taighde socheacnamaíoch in Éirinn. Anuas ar thacú le hOllscoil Mhá Nuad ar thionscadail inmheánacha anailísíochta sonraí, bíonn an fhoireann AIRO ag obair i gcomhpháirt le Ranna Rialtais, Údaráis Réigiúnacha agus Údaráis Áitiúla thar timpeall na hÉireann chun tacú le tioscnaimh i bpolasaí agus i bpleanáil.
