Welcome Our Visiting Scholar, Marloes Vrolijk!
We're thrilled to welcome Marloes Vrolijk as a visiting scholar to the Centre for Public Education and Pedagogy for the Autumn semester. Following her attendance at our doctoral conference on public education and public pedagogy in June, Marloes is keen to deepen her engagement with the Centre's initiatives.
Short Bio:
Marloes Vrolijk is a doctoral candidate at Antwerp University in Belgium. She is a part of the SOLiDi ("Solidarity in Diversity") research consortium where she explores citizenship education practices in urban Belgian schools. Prior to her PhD journey, Marloes gained teaching experience at United World Colleges in Norway and Eswatini.
Her academic backgrounds is in Sociology of Law, Public International Law, and she is a certified teacher of Social Studies and Social Sciences. Her work-life balance is a blend of her research work in Antwerp and her time spent at the UWC Maastricht campus.
