Young stellar object 244-440 in the Orion Nebula

A team led by PhD student Andrew Kirwan and Dr. Emma Whelan in the Department of Experimental Physics have made observations of the young stellar object 244-440 in the Orion Nebula, using the Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer (MUSE) instrument at ESO’s Very Large Telescpe (VLT) in Chile. This picture has been chosen as an ESO picture of the week.
