Meet our STEP Trainee

Monday, September 7, 2015 - 11:30

Maynooth University Department of Law hosted a STEP traineeship over the summer. ELSA's (The European Law Students' Association) Student Trainee Exchange Programme (STEP) makes it possible for law students and young lawyers to gain work experience abroad and provides an outstanding opportunity to gain practical legal experience as well as the culture of another country.

Meet our STEP Trainee!

Mateja Krejan
(ELSA Slovenia)

Mateja is a law student at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. She is currently finishing her bachelors degree and will commence a master’s program this coming October. She is most interested in labour law and has a large amount of experience regarding academic legal research in this field. She is involved in ELSA as the Director for Marketing in the local group of ELSA Ljubljana and has attended various international events. Among other things she was also a national researcher of the this year’s ELSA International Legal Research Group on Social Rights.

Mateja’s diverse research tasks during her traineeship at the National University of Ireland Maynooth focused on the field of labour law and included research of a wide range of interesting issues, such as human resource management, social media, public procurement, and others, all from the perspective of labour and employment law.

Mateja on STEP:
'This STEP programme was an outstanding practical working experience and a great opportunity to upgrade and use my legal skills in the international environment.'
