The Development and Alumni Relations Office at Maynooth University hosted the official Irish launch event for Dr. Darragh Ennis' new book, "THE BODY: Ten Things You Should Know" at JPII Library on Thursday, 21st November. The event, supported by the Faculty of Science & Engineering and the Graduate Research Academy, attracted a full house of attendees.
Vice President for External Affairs, Rebecca Doolin, welcomed guests, with Professor Paul Moynagh, Dean of the Faculty of Science & Engineering, introducing Dr Ennis and his interviewer, Dr Andrew Hogan, Senior Lecturer in Biology, and fellow alumnus.
Dr Ennis' book provides insights into the human body through ten engaging essays, answering questions on topics such as why blood is red, how the body defends itself, and how hormones influence our actions.
“This book showcases Dr. Ennis’ dedication to making complex ideas accessible to the public,” said Prof. Moynagh. “It’s a celebration of his work and the vibrant community at Maynooth University.”
Following the discussion, Dr Ennis participated in a lively Q&A session and book signing, where he chatted with guests.
