The training course for the public sector will be on Thursday, 30th January, from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Note: staff must register through the SEAI Energy link. Please apply using your official National University of Ireland, Maynooth email address. Applications using a generic email address (e.g. gmail, hotmail, outlook, etc.) will be declined.
Course content:
Understand energy terminology and the challenges and opportunities facing Ireland and the Public Sector. Gain the confidence to contribute to these challenges.
This half-day introductory course aims to teach basic energy terminology and concepts in plain English. It will provide context to the energy challenges and opportunities facing Ireland and corresponding Public Sector obligations and introduce commonly used terms, units of measure and technologies. The course will introduce renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency opportunities around building fabric and commonly used equipment such as boilers, lighting and transport.
The intent is to provide attendees with knowledge to understand their energy consumption and confidence to contribute to improving it.
At the end of this course, you will:
* Understand energy jargon/terminology such as kW and kWh, U-values
* Be able to work out a simple payback calculations
* Recognise technologies commonly used in the energy/energy efficiency sector

TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is specifically designed for non-technical public sector staff with very little knowledge or experience in energy management, who have a minor involvement, but it is not their core role.
