Maynooth Campus Green Heritage and Green Flag award 2021
Wednesday, November 17, 2021 - 18:30

Maynooth Campus is awarded its 3rd Green Flag for Parks Award Ireland.

Also, the campus has been awarded Green Heritage Accreditation. It is the first university campus in the Republic of Ireland to do so. Maynooth campus was also highly commended for its actions for All-Ireland pollinator plan award. We would like to congratulate Maynooth Tidy Towns Association that has also been successful in joining the Green Flag Award family, achieving their first Green Flag Award for the Maynooth Sensory Garden (behind Sy. Mary's Church, Moyglare road). Please find directions here https://goo.gl/maps/Dm3XwTTZ181mRutj8

Having a Green Flag Award and being a Green Heritage site means that work on the campus is to preserve, enhance and protect its natural and built heritage, and it is of the highest standards and recognised intentionally. The campus is part of a global community of well-managed parks and green spaces, with over 2300 sites from 16 countries now flying a Green Flag Award. Ireland boosts over 100 Green Flag Sites and 7 Green Heritage sites.
The success of these awards is a key indicator of the commitment of the Campus to make real change to its green infrastructure and showcase best practices for other institutions to follow.
