Maynooth University Hamilton Institute
ToggleRF Shielded Room
The Hamilton Institute has an RF Shielded Room, suitable for conducting controlled experiments with small devices using WiFi, and other similar wireless technologies. The inside of the sheilded room is approximately 4.5m long, 2.5m wide and 2.5m tall. With the door closed, the room provides more than 100dB attenuation between 1GHz and 10GHz (there is significant attenuation at other frequencies too). The walls and ceiling have pyramidal microwave absorbers. Power, ethernet networking and air conditioning are available in the room and are filtered to provide a clean RF environment.
