International Office Launches New Virtual ‘Tea & Tayto’ Video Chats for Students

Wednesday, April 8, 2020 - 14:45

Recognising the fact that many students currently find themselves isolated in a foreign country without the regular supports of home family, friends and comforts the International Office have begun hosting a virtual ‘Tea & Tayto’ video chat twice a week.
The informal virtual forum is designed as a place to chat, share experiences and ask questions for both Irish and foreign Maynooth students involved in international study. Students are encouraged to bring their own snacks and refreshments to the virtual sessions.

The International Office work hard to engage with all students involved with studying abroad and are keen to try and bring the hundreds of students together, albeit virtually, in a time when many find themselves alone.

The virtual Tea & Taytos Chat sessions take place every Tuesday and Thursdays at 12pm – 12.30pm. Two International Office team members host a virtual room for participants who want to chat with their fellow students peers and ourselves.  Students are encouraged to share their experiences and hear that of others wherever in the world they may be.
Every session will focus on a different topic, from Netflix recommendations to online learning experiences.

The main aim of the project is to help keep students connected and interactive during these difficult times.
