Jodi and Ben meeting with a student at Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio.

International Officers, Jodi Killackey and Ben Finnegan, travelled to the US in February to visit a number of partner universities. The purpose of the trip was to meet the staff at our partner universities, attend study abroad fairs, discuss our agreements, possible collaborations and new initiatives and to ultimately strengthen the relationships we have with our US partners. Jodi and Ben also held a number of information sessions at the various campuses to promote study abroad opportunities at Maynooth University. They met with students who have started their application to MU, prospective students and also students who have studied at Maynooth previously and are now peer advisors.
Partners visited on the trip included: St. Mary’s College, University of Dayton, University of Loyola Chicago, Xavier University, Northern Kentucky University, University of Kentucky, Northern Texas University, Texas Tech University, University of South Florida and Rollins College.

Jodi and Ben meeting with Katie Pazda, Programme Manager of Education Abroad, Univeristy of South Florida.

They also met with a number of Maynooth University students who are currently spending their year abroad in the US. We met Luke O’Mahony at Loyola Chicago, Roisin Kealey and Shannon Courcier at University of Dayton, Jack Toohey at University of Kentucky and Happiness Omochere at Rollins College. All students reported that the experience so far has been extremely enjoyable and worthwhile and they are thankful for the opportunity to study in the US.

We value the partnerships we have with US institutions greatly as they allow us to collaborate with wonderful colleagues, implement new programmes and welcome hundreds of students to our campus each year, as well as allowing our students the opportunity to study at prestigious US universities. We thank each partner who hosted us on their campus and look forward to the next occasion to meet, whether here at Maynooth or in the US.
