Dr Etain Quigley
About
Dr Etain Quigley completed her BSocSc and MSocSc (first class honours) at University College Dublin. She then completed her PhD in Law in the area of contemporary policy and practice in the Irish youth justice system (University College Dublin). She has worked on numerous studies in the area of criminology and criminal justice and was Research Lead on the prisoners/ex-prisoners voice phase of the Strategic Review of Penal Policy for the Department of Justice and Equality. Etain has been part of an Fp7 consortium (2016) and was recently awarded RISE H2020 funding (2017). She was successful with her IRC Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship submission in 2017. Etain was appointed to sit on Mental Health Tribunals in 2013 and has recently been reappointed for a further three years. In addition, she is a long standing member of the Association for Criminal Justice Research and Development and is involved with both the Juvenile Justice and Mental Health Working Groups. Her research and teaching interests include youth justice, policing, criminological theory, child and adolescent mental health in the criminal justice system, research methods and criminal law, she welcomes research proposals in these areas.
