Maynooth University celebrates the Chinese New Year

The Chinese Language Department, in conjunction with the School of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures hosted a wonderful Chinese New Year celebration on the 21st February at the Aula Maxima Hall on South Campus. Distinguished guests, including Professor Patrick McCole, VP International, and Professor Valerie Heffernan, Head of Modern Language Department, along with over 100 faculty members and students, attended the event. Professor McCole's opening remarks set a warm tone, with New Year wishes in Chinese. The occasion featured performances by students showcasing diverse talents, from dance routines to singing. Professor Joseph Timoney, MIEC Executive Vice-Dean, added some musical flair to the celebrations by playing the guitar and singing. The event was a tremendous success, highlighting student achievements and the university's dedication to cultural diversity and inclusivity.
