MIEC students win silver and bronze in the national final of the China International "Internet Plus" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

Final of the 7th China International "Internet +" Competition for university students across the world was held at Nanchang University in Jiangxi province on 12-15th October. The competition is committed to promote academic collaboration and excellence, innovative ideas and entrepreneurship. Over 10,000 students from more than 100 countries participated in the competition and had their projects assessed against technical and commercial criteria. 

MIEC students participated in four teams and followed the high standards of previous years:  
Liu Yanli (2019, EE) and her team won silver medal for their project ‘Portable flexible X-ray imager’.

MIEC team of students: Bohan Chen (Project leader), Yunxuan Lin, Hanlin Jin, Mengyu Rao, Xixiang Zhang, Xilin Shen, Xiaoyang Chen, Chen Song, Shihui Shan (all 2019, CSSE), and Wei Cai (2020, CSSE) led by Dr Joseph Timoney and Dr Ting Bi, won the bronze medal for their project ‘Cyber Space - A remote VR leisure social platform combining 5G,multi-body sensing and ultra-reliable low latency’. 
Shan Shihui (2019, MMWD) also won bronze medal with another team for the project ‘Star Moves with Eyes— Electric Stimulation Therapy Device for Autism Controlled by Real-time Electrooculogram’. 
Liguo Lin (2019, CSSE) and his team won bronze medal for the project ‘Treating waste with waste -- purifying water to rejuvenate agriculture.
