On 30th October, Dr Simon Wong, MIEC Academic Coordinator, remotely delivered a Study Skills mentoring session to the first year MIEC students.
Over 230 students joined the skills-based session to get useful tips and tricks on how to successfully adapt to a university learning and social environment. Students looked at the differences in teaching styles and got practical advice on how to develop problem-solving skills, on efficient note taking, mastering studies in a foreign language, and on benefits of collaborative working.
MIEC English Language teacher, Mr. Karl Young shared his personal experience as a Maynooth University alumnus on his education path, and how an international education experience enhanced his skill set and ultimately benefited his career.
