The Mountjoy Prison Maynooth University (MJMU) Partnership is an exemplar of public sector collaboration and it is unique in its prison university partnership approach in Ireland. It was established in 2019 with the support of the Public Service Innovation Fund at the Department of Expenditure and Reform.

Governor Eddie Mullins from Mountjoy Prison will host the event and Caron McCaffrey, Director General of the Irish Prison Service will speak on Mountjoy Prison as a place of learning. We will hear a student's voice about the transformative potential of higher education for people who are prison experienced. The keynote address will be delivered by Professor Shoshana Pollack Faculty of Social Work, Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada and Director of the Walls to Bridges programme.
