Biography

Dr Gareth W. Young is a multidiscipline postdoctoral researcher on the Building City Dashboards project at the National Centre for Geocomputation (NCG), Maynooth University. He is currently responsible for assessing the design effectiveness of dashboard tools and examining alternative and multimodal platforms.

His previous research focussed on User-Centred Design methodologies for Digital Musical Instruments (DMIs) and the evaluation of haptic feedback for DMI interactions by applying both quantitative and qualitative design evaluation methodologies.

Gareth is a graduate of the Digital Arts and Humanities Structured Doctor of Philosophy programme delivered at University College Cork, Ireland (2016). He received his Master of Science degree in Music Technology from Dundalk Institute of Technology (2009), and his Bachelor of Engineering undergraduate honours degree in Sound and Broadcast Engineering from Glyndwr University (2008).
