Welcome to Maynooth International Engineering College, Fuzhou University (MIEC). MIEC is a joint international partnership between Maynooth University (MU) and Fuzhou University (FZU), located on Fuzhou University campus in Fuzhou, Fujian province in China. MIEC offers undergraduate students an opportunity to enrol into four programmes:
- Electronic Engineering
- Computer Science & Software Engineering
- Robotics & Intelligent Devices
- Multimedia, Mobile and Web Development.
The four programmes are based on the programmes offered at Maynooth University. Additional modules will need to be taken to satisfy the requirement for the award of a degree from Fuzhou University. All core modules are taught through English with the majority being delivered by MU lecturers based in Fuzhou. Duration of each programme is 4 years. Successful students are awarded two degrees: one from Maynooth University and one from Fuzhou University.
We are aware that the first semester of the first academic year is the most crucial period to adapt to university life. MIEC provides free, intensive pre-sessional English language courses for students, which enable them to adapt to the English teaching environment as quickly as possible. Enhanced English training is also provided during the first year of study.
