All students sitting a University scheduled examination in Maynooth University are bound by the Examination Rules and Regulations of the University
We are aware that there are students who may have underlying medical conditions for which they may carry electronic devices or otherwise e.g. medical monitors or similar. Unfortunately this may constitute a breach of the Examination Rules and Regulations, however unintentionally.
Maynooth Examinations Office wish to facilitate all students to have a safe and comfortable exam experience and so we would ask that if you require the use of or access to e.g. epi-pen, glucose monitor or access to your phone in a medical capacity, please complete the form below in order to inform staff so that we can ensure adequate support for you in the main exam venues:
Giving Notice of an Underlying Medical Condition For Examinations Form
If you are already registered with the MAP office and sit your exams in an alternative venue, you do not need to complete this form. If you are entitled to or require additional exam support beyond awareness in the main exam hall, e.g. use of scribe, extended time and have not yet registered with the MAP office, please contact them as soon as possible: MAP Office Contact Information
As per the Maynooth University Examinations Rules and Regulations Programmable calculators are prohibited in the Examination Halls.

“If a calculator is needed, you must provide your own calculator. The memory should be erased and there should be no notes stored in or written on the device. Programmable calculators are prohibited. If you are unsure if your calculator is acceptable, please check with Examinations Office staff prior to the Examination session commencing.”
It is a student’s responsibility to ensure that they have a calculator which adheres to the University Rules and Regulations.

Should students present with a calculator not on this list or on this list as not allowed the calculator shall be removed from them and they shall be given a replacement one if available.
