Biography

Samuel Mutter is a Postdoctoral Researcher on the Data Stories project at the Maynooth University Social Sciences Institute (MUSSI). This role involves contributing to a comprehensive audit of housing and property data in Dublin, interviews and ethnographies with relevant stakeholders, and the use of critical research-creation methods in collaboration with stakeholders, the project's creative technologist, and artists/creative writers.

Prior to this project Samuel was PI on the ESRC funded project Kin-aesthetic Politics at Aberystwyth University in the UK, which built on his PhD research on the London Underground at Birkbeck, University of London. His research interests include critical approaches to urban logistics and infrastructure, data infrastructures, smart urbanism, and public transport mobilities. He is also interested in conceptual ideas around kin-aesthetics and negative geographies. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Progress in Human GeographyMobilities, and City, as well as in a sole-authored manuscript published by Prospect Books.
