Biography

Dr Siobhán Woods is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology. Siobhán's research interests centre around the psychological health and well-being of athletes and others in performance contexts, with particular interest in burnout. Siobhán is also interested in the relationship between physical activity and psychological health more broadly.

Prior to joining MU in 2023, Siobhán was an Assistant Professor in DCU School of Psychology, where she previously completed her PhD under the supervision of Dr Simon Dunne and Prof Pamela Gallagher. Her PhD explored the risk and protective factors for the development of burnout in Gaelic games athletes.
