The QSA*Net team was proud to present at the 9th World Conference on Qualitative Research (WCQR2025), held from 4 to 6 February 2025 at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. This prestigious conference brought together qualitative researchers from across the globe to discuss cutting-edge methodologies, challenges, and innovations in qualitative inquiry.

Our presentation focused on the importance of qualitative secondary analysis (QSA) in fostering open research practices. Despite the availability of qualitative social science data through FAIR-compliant repositories, data re-use remains limited. QSA*Net aims to bridge this gap by building networks, promoting expertise, and supporting researchers in adopting QSA methodologies. We also shared some of our preliminary findings, sparking engaging discussions on the challenges and opportunities in qualitative secondary analysis.

Our participation at WCQR2025 was an enriching experience, allowing us to engage in valuable knowledge exchange with researchers from diverse backgrounds. Conversations with fellow researchers highlighted the need for greater collaboration and shared strategies for overcoming barriers to QSA adoption. The feedback we received was invaluable and will help inform the next stages of our project.
