Qualitative social science data are increasingly available through repositories that meet FAIR metadata standards, including the Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI). Barriers to sharing qualitative social science data have been lowered through the development of national and international social science data infrastructures, and through the promotion of open research by funders, research performing organizations, and other key stakeholders. Nevertheless, practices of re-using data remain limited in Ireland.

QSA*Net is a NORF funded project, which aims to stimulate awareness and participation in open research by promoting practices of data re-use in the qualitative social sciences. The project will research barriers to re-using qualitative data deposited in data infrastructures such as the Digital Repository of Ireland, and inform researchers about the analytical potential of Qualitative Secondary Analysis (QSA).
