Getting Here & Commuting
Located in the heart of Ireland's only university town, we are just 25km from the centre of Dublin - Find us on Google Maps.
Our vibrant and beautiful campus is closely integrated with the historic and lively town of Maynooth, Co. Kildare, which is easily accessible by car, bus, bicycle and train. Maynooth University is accessible by public transport from most parts of the country.
Transport Options
Please see our Maynooth University Transport Guide 2018/19 for more information on your travel options.
Parking on Campus
Both Maynooth University and St. Patricks College Maynooth have introduced a range of Commuting measures designed to manage the use of our scarce parking resources by the campus community in a safe and efficient manner.
We strongly advise that you only commute by car to campus if you need to i.e. if you have no alternative mode of transport. Parking spaces are limited in numbers and as such we ask that you think of others who have no alternative but to use their car to commute to the campus.
Drivers on campus grounds are expected to adhere to the speed limit and to be constantly vigilant of pedestrians at all times.
The Campus Traffic management and Parking Policy for the 2020/2021 academic year will come into operation on Monday 28th September 2020 to include Designated Permit Parking and Pay and Display. This applies to all car park spaces on both the North and South Campuses.
Enforcement of this policy will apply between 08.30-17.00 hours, Monday-Friday during term time, and on any other days as may be required for operational reasons. Permit parking restrictions will cease to be enforced after Friday 5th June 2021 for all parking spaces on the north and south campuses.
Permits will not be required during study weeks or exam periods. However, please note that the assigned traffic management company will continue to patrol the campus during study weeks, exam periods and outside of term time for dangerous, illegal and inappropriate parking and will penalize any offending vehicles found in breach of The Traffic Management Policy.
For further information on Parking and Traffic Management, visit the Traffic Management Office website.
