A medical emergency is a life threatening situation that requires immediate attention. Examples of a medical emergency include (but are not confined to) the following:

  • loss of consciousness
  • acute confused state and fits that are not stopping
  • persistent, severe chest pain
  • breathing difficulties
  • severe bleeding that cannot be stopped
  • severe allergic reactions
  • severe burns or scalds

If you have a medical emergency on campus that requires an ambulance, dial 999 or the Campus Security Emergency number on (01) 708 3929. They will call an ambulance and ensure that they are met upon their arrival on campus and are escorted to your exact location.
Urgent Medical situation (Non-Life threatening) 

  • If you have an urgent health problem that is not life threatening your GP is your first port of call.
