Congratulations to ALL member, Simon Ahern, one of three winners in the 'Expert' category of the EU in my Region Contest 2019 (Regional & Urban Policy department of EU) for highlighting the use of EU funds to support students such as Claire Shorten, a blind student who uses technology at Maynooth University as she trains to become a school teacher. Claire was a speaker at the Freedom Tech 1st national assembly on AT in Ireland in 2017 when ALL was launched.

Simon was invited to Brussels for a week in October for communications training and to attend the EU Week of Regions and Cities, the key event relating to EU Regional Policy. It welcomed 10,000 participants (local, regional, national and European decision-makers and experts) for more than 100 workshops and debates, exhibitions and networking opportunities.
