Professor Delia Ferri Delivers Keynote Speech at Conference at the Universita’ Statale di Milano

On 3 June, Professor Delia Ferri delivered a keynote speech entitled ‘Disability Rights in the Workplace: International and EU Perspectives’ at the conference ‘Promoting a Disability-Sensitive Approach to the Work Environment. A Comparative Glance on Theories, Policies, Legislation and Practices on the Right to Work of People with Disabilities’. The conference was held on 3 and 4 June at the Italian and Supranational Public Law Department of the Universita’ Statale di Milano (University of Milan) Italy, and organised by Dr. Paola Pannia, Assistant Professor in Comparative Public Law, Professor Marilisa D’Amico, Pro-Director Delegate for Legality, Transparency and Equal Rights and Professor of Constitutional Law, and Prof. Lorenza Violini, Professor of Constitutional Law. The conference is part of the HUMAN HALL #24 activities, coordinated by Prof. Marilisa D’Amico. It falls within the remit of the project ‘Inclusion Index’ studying the role of equality indicators in employment and the promotion of inclusive workplaces. 

The two-day conference covered theoretical and policy issues, including and discussed several examples and best practices of workplace inclusion of people with disabilities between law and practice in Europe. It brought together academics, policy makers as well as representatives of organisations of people with disabilities from Italy, Belgium, the UK, Bulgaria and Denmark.
