Professor Delia Ferri presents to UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

On Monday, 4 March Professor Delia Ferri, alongside her colleague and co-editor Professor Giuseppe Martinico presented the key findings of the collected volume ‘Federalism and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The Implementation of the CRPD in Federal Systems and its Implications’ (Hart Publishing 2023), edited by Ferri, Palermo and Martinico, at the 30th Session of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD Committee). The opening session heard several speakers including permanent representatives of other UN agencies and Special Rapporteurs as well as representatives of organisations of persons with disabilities.

As yet, Professor Ferri has presented her research widely and internationally to different stakeholders and to academic peers. You can read a list of presentation to major events here. Among other commitments, in 2024, prior to this presentation at the UN Headquarters, on Friday, 23 February, Professor Ferri presented at the Conference ‘Developing an International Strategy in the Euromediterranean Area on the Goods for an Updated Anthropic Loop’ organised by the Department of Law at the University of Messina, Italy on the topic of ‘Digitalisation and Accessibility: The Role of European Law’. Professor Ferri has further been invited to give a lecture on ‘DANCING - Protecting the Right to Culture of Persons with Disabilities and Enhancing Cultural Diversity through EU Law’ at the Central European University in Vienna, Austria on Wednesday, 13 March.

Professor Delia Ferri is Professor of Law at the School of Law and Criminology at Maynooth University and Co-Director of the Assisting Living and Learning (ALL) Institute at Maynooth University.
