In the spirit of uniting theory and practice, this exciting event will bring together community development practitioners and academics from around Ireland and across the globe to share practice experiences, present research findings and generate collective understandings and analysis of some of the key challenges impacting communities around the world, as well as seeking ways, old and new, to address these.
Conference themes include: change and transformation; community development and the state; environmental justice and sustainable development; gender, class and ethnicity.
Alongside a range of plenaries, presentations and practice workshops, the World Community Development Conference (WCDC) 2018 will also host an exciting cultural programme including visual arts, film and music and, from June 28-30th, delegates will also have the opportunity to participate in practice exchange visits to community projects in Dublin and along the Wild Atlantic Way.
