Tuesday 4th April saw the 23rd annual Clubs and Societies Awards with Maynooth University's Students Union. The Geography Society submitted nominations under a number of categories including Best Fresher Mireia Guardino Ferran, Best Society, Best Society event for We Stand With Standing Rock #NoDAPL, Best Society Individual Rhonda McGovern, and Most Improved Society. Best Society Individual was the one award we won, and Rhonda McGovern is now on her way to the National Awards BICs (more info here http://bics.ie/about-us/) representing the Geography Society and Maynooth University taking place in Athlone.
In total, Maynooth have nominees in eight categories for the National Awards:
Best Fresher: Cornelia Schmidt for Languages Society
Best New: Languages Society
Most Improved: Yoga Society
Best Individual: Rhonda McGovern
Best Event: Dance Society for Maynooth's Best Dance Crew
Best Civic Society: Mental Health Society
Best Cultural Academic: MARS FM
Best photograph: Maths Society
