Mycards and Access Issues

MyCard is the campus smart card for staff and students. It supports the following services:

Access to the Library - MyCard is required to enter the Library and to borrow items
Access to other buildings
Act as your personal ID card

Access Information

All departments on campus are familiar with the access requirements of both students and staff and the guidelines set out by the Heads of Departments. Work is ongoing to streamline the process for requesting door access. In future we would ask that you follow a few simple guidelines.

All student and staff requests for access must come from either the Department's Administration office or a designated person within the Department.
All new staff requests for access must come from either the Department's Administration office or a designated person, as soon as the new employee receives their "Mycard"
Except where urgent, all requests should be contained in just one email per day.
Emails will be responded to when complete, unless there is a further query. There is NO NEED TO REPLY.
A dedicated email address for requests has been set up [email protected] In future all requests should be forwarded to this address. In urgent cases the request should be Cc'ed to [email protected]
G4S (Group 4 red and blue) cards are being phased out. Staff currently with a G4S card should apply for a "Mycard" and return the G4S card to security.
