2019-20 RSA Student Design Award Shortlisted Finalists
Design Innovation students at Maynooth University have had exceptional success with 3 shortlisted finalists in this year’s RSA Student Design Awards. The Royal Society of Arts competition is internationally recognised with other finalists not just from the UK and Ireland, but Germany, Singapore, South Korea and USA.
BSc Product Design students Éilis O’Reilly and Doireann Peelo are finalists in the Dignity In Displacement brief on how might we support displaced individuals to find hope, dignity and safety to rebuild their lives? Jack Dempsey, Andrew Dunne and Bilko Kacar are fianlists in the A Platform For Joy brief on how might we unlock joy for people at train stations?
MSc Design Innovation students Alexandra McDermont, Dervilla McNamara & Amalia White are finalists on the Just About Managing brief on how might we enable households and families to be more economically secure?
The final stage of judging is a series of online interviews with finalists, where shortlisted entrants are invited to discuss their competition entry with the judging panels. Winners will be announced in May, and their projects celebrated at an Awards ceremony later on this year.
