Booker Prize winner Paul Lynch appointed Distinguished Writing Fellow
Maynooth University is delighted to announce that 2023 Booker Prize Winner Paul Lynch has been appointed Maynooth University Distinguished Writing Fellow.

MU staff and former student shortlisted for four Irish Book Awards
Three members of staff at Maynooth University, as well as a former student, have been nominated in five categories for the An Post Irish Book Awards.

Department of English lecturer Dr Catherine Gander awarded the Max Nänny Prize for best essay in word and image studies
Dr Catherine Gander has won the Max Nänny Prize for best essay in word and image studies. The prize is awarded by the International Association for Word and Image Studies (IAWIS) every three years, and announced at their AGM.

Maynooth University congratulates Paul Lynch on Booker Prize shortlisting
Maynooth University congratulates Paul Lynch, who is currently the Arts Council Writer-in-Residence at MU, on his shortlisting for the Booker Prize for his fifth novel, Prophet Song. Prophet Song is a brilliant imagining of extremism in an alternate or near-future Ireland. Paul began work on Prophet Song while he was the 2019 Kildare County Council Writer-in-Residence at Maynooth.
