Maynooth University welcomed young scientists to its annual Science Night on Friday, 15 November, opening its doors to hundreds of families from across the region.
Our Department was involved actively in this event, offering engaging activities and demonstrations to school kids and their families!
Dr. Mark Walsh gave talks doing his fascinating bubble demonstrations. Basic notions from geometry like shape, area and curvature were applied in practice and led to some surprising and beautiful results! Making use of some basic household supplies and a little geometry kids explored the wonderful world of soap films!

Facts in Mathematics and Maths Jokes were available and other interesting puzzles took place on boards!
