Doctoral research within the Faculty is supported by initiatives such as the prestigious John and Pat Hume Scholarships, which provide annual funding to foster the next generation of scientific and engineering leaders.
Established in honour of John Hume, an alumnus of Maynooth University, and in recognition of his important contribution to Ireland, the John and Pat Hume Doctoral Awards are offered across all disciplines at in the Faculty. The annual four year scholarship offering for 2025-2026 is €25,000 stipend, €2,000 research expenses plus EU fees each year.
