    Great success with the recent Irish Anthropology Day

    On Thursday 19th May 2022, Maynooth University Anthropology together with The Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland (RAI), along with colleagues from Queens University Belfast, were delighted to host the Irish Anthropology Day, a seminar dedicated to the anthropology on/of the island of Ireland.

    David’s lecture was entitled The Platform Discount. He explored platform labour in the context of the EU’s proposed Platform Work Directive.

    Dr Lauren Kierans has published a new piece, in the Revue de Droit Comparé du Travail et de la Sécurité Sociale [The Comparative Law Review of Labour and Social Security].

    The piece “La jurisprudence en matière de lancement d’alerte en Irlande” looks the Protected Disclosures Act 2014, and the extent to which the Act is fulfilling its purpose (to provide protection to workers who make protected disclosures).
