Dr Paul Wilcox

Geography, ICARUS

Post Doctoral Researcher

Biography

Paul has a background in paleoclimate and environmental changes in lake/peat sediment cores and speleothems. He employs various proxies to reconstruct past climate conditions such as pollen, geochemical signatures (i.e. isotopes), and tephra. A key goal of his research is to use past climate to help understand modern-day climate change and associated societal impacts.

At Maynooth University, he works in the ICARUS Climate Research Centre as part of the PCARB team which seeks to understand past carbon accumulation in Irish peatlands.
