Support Offices and Services

Access Office  - offers support for students with disabilities, sanctuary scholars/refugees, mature students, single/teen parents, etc. 

Student Support Hub - general help and guidance, studentpad online accommodation finder, emergency food vouchers/student emergency fund, short-term loans. 

Student Helpdesk - information available in person (TSI ground floor) or online for the full academic year. 

Maynooth Students' Union Information Desk - information and advice, printing, laminating, photocopying, student travel card, text-book swap, stationery, parcel point (collect/return/send on-line purchases), Payzone point (top up mobile phone/pay bills). 

Maths Support Centre -  a free service providing informal, friendly additional Mathematics support to Maynooth University undergraduates.

Academic Writing Support - offers free, friendly, non-judgemental writing help to any student, undergraduate or postgraduate, regardless of course, degree or level. 

Careers and Employability service - this service is dedicated to empowering students to make informed decisions, develop future-focused skills and competencies, insights and awareness needed to excel personally, professionally and transition to work or further study.

MU Library LIST -  Library LIST sessions will cover key supports the library offers, easy ways to plan your assignments, practical essay writing skills and supporting your well-being during the academic year. 

Milo - Maynooth Inclusive Learning Online (Milo) is a self-directed learning platform created by Maynooth University to provide accessible learning supports and resources for all MU students.
"Self-directed" means that you get to choose how you'd like to use Milo, in a way that's tailored to your learning needs and goals.

 

Having fun and making friends

MULife - MU Clubs and Societies.  Try a new sport, or activity or join something you are already interested in.  Lots of sports clubs and student activity societies to try! 

Erasmus Student Network - A student society for all international students.  Events, movie screenings, trips around Ireland, social running club, etc. 

MSU Club - Student bar that also serves coffee and food and offers weekly events.  The MSU Information desk (see above) is close by and offers an alcohol-free meeting area. 

Learn a language through the Arqus Café - Maynooth University is part of the Arqus European Alliance.  As part of this, we are delighted to offer a virtual meeting place where students and staff from the Arqus partner universities can practice their language skills outside of the classroom. 

 

 

 

Staying well and safe

Maynooth University Student Services - Student Wellbeing and Support, Creche, Budgeting, Chaplaincy, Student Support Officer, Healthy Campus, Student Health Service (Access to doctors and nurses).  Student Counselling Services and the Text Support Service: Text MU to 50808 to start a conversation with a trained volunteer any time - day or night. 

Safe and Sound Protocol - SSP is an integrated listening system providing auditory intervention designed to reduce stress, improve brain function, and regulate your nervous system, your body and your mind.

MU Sports facilities - fitness centre, free weights room, sports halls. 

Maynooth Students' Union Peer Support  Peer-to-peer support on Welfare and Education matters. 

Medical Emergency on Campus - Who to contact in the event of a medical emergency.

First Aid  - First Aiders on campus, defibrillators, seizure first aid. 

Security Office - Campus Security, Lost and Found, Campus Regulations. 

Speak Out reporting tool - Speak Out is an online anonymous reporting tool to disclose incidents of bullying, cyberbulling, harrassment, discrimination, hate crime, coercive behaviour/control, stalking, assualt, sexual harrassment, sexual assualt and rape.  The tool will help you find information and contact details for relevant Maynooth Univeristy supports and specialist external supports.  It also provides information on how to make a formal complaint.
