The IQDA disseminates most of its collections through the Digital Repository of Ireland, which is the national trusted digital repository for Ireland's social and cultural data. Direct links to IQDA collections within DRI may be found on this website.
Some of the data in DRI are openly accessible to all visitors to the site. However access to the majority of IQDA data is restricted to bona fide researchers and teachers, and to students who are currently registered at a third-level academic institution. Please refer to the rights and licensing statement for each collection or object for further details on this. You can request access to a collection or an object by first registering with the DRI and then selecting the Request Access button for that collection or object.
A small portion of IQDA data is disseminated through direct application to the archive. To access a collection that is held by the IQDA, but not featured on the DRI repository site, please complete the IQDA Data Access Request and Agreement on Conditions of Use form and return it by post to the following address:
Note: If you are a student, please ask your supervisor to fill in the form on your behalf.
