Depositor: Dr Andrew Allen
The Recall Initiative Project is investigating the effect of reminiscence on memory and well being. They are holding 6-week groups for people aged 60 years or over, exploring positive memories from history and people’s pasts, as well as conducting research on memory and well-being. With the permission of the interviewees these accounts are being preserved for the long term in the IQDA for use by both other reminiscence groups and researchers.
They include memories of the Pope’s visit to Ireland, trips to the cinema, childhood illness and the 1966 commemorations.
Initial audio clips from the interviews have been archived in the Digital Repository of Ireland and can be found here https://repository.dri.ie/catalog/wp98p078n.
