The current issue of History Ireland includes an interesting article on the Babylonian clay tablet collection at Maynooth University Library. The article relates to a collection of sixty-five cuneiform tablets and cones in the Sumerian language and a pre-writing stamp seal depicting three antelopes. The material dates from c. 3500-1900 BC. Please visit the History Ireland website for more information. Highlights of this collection can be viewed in the Russell Library during normal opening hours (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10.00 am – 1.00 pm and 2.00pm – 5.00 pm).
