The Library's Collections comprise books, journals, reference, theses, audio visual, official publications, manuscripts and archives in a variety of formats held in John Paul II Library and the Russell Library.
The Maynooth University Library catalogue and digital library describe the historical and contemporary books and archives held in Maynooth University (MU) and St. Patrick’s Pontifical University (SPPU). As products of their time periods, some contain images and language which may be considered inappropriate and offensive. We preserve these books and archives for research, and we acknowledge that they do not all represent both MU's and SPPU’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. Some of the language used to describe the items in this catalogue may be considered inappropriate or offensive. As part of ongoing quality control, we review the terms used in the descriptions. We welcome the input of everyone who uses our library.
If you encounter language in finding aids, catalogue records of archival holdings, digitised collections, exhibitions, etc., that you find problematic, offensive or harmful, or if you have questions or concerns, we welcome your feedback. Please fill out the following form: Feedback on Harmful Language in Cataloguing and Archival Description (Libwizard.com)
