Adania Shibli: Novelist and Essayist
Adania is a Palestinian novelist of international renown whose recent novel Minor Detail has been longlisted for the International Booker Prize. Shibli, who writes only in Arabic (her works have been translated into English by Elisabeth Jaquette, Paula Haydar and Paul Starkey), is a brilliant speaker on war, memory and identity, as well as on the Arabic language and aesthetics, alongside political and cultural topics.
She will be joined by Dr Rita Sakr and Dr Sinéad Kennedy for a wide-ranging conversation and discussion about Minor Detail.
We are delighted to welcome Adania to Maynooth University and the 2024 Arts and Minds Festival.
