BSc Product Design Graduate - Award Winner - Laney Hyland

Congratulations to Laney Hyland, BSc Product Design and Innovation for winning Best Medical Device Design category at the recent Institute of Designers in Ireland graduate awards.

The inspiration for this focus area came from her grandmother who has received three knee replacement surgeries. Connect is a self-assisted rehabilitation system that offers patients a user-controlled recovery after replacement surgeries.

Thanks to her dedicated team of supervisors Frank Devitt and Oratile Rose Mokgatla, and to Threase Finnegan-Kessie for supporting her towards an HSE Spark Innovation Programme scholarship award.
