The following research workshops by members of the Department of Adult and Community Education will be presented to teacher attendees at the 2023 ESAI Conference on Friday, March 31st, in Belfast. The recent national survey on Youtreach teachers’ wellbeing, “The Youthreach Employee Wellbeing Report 2022: A review of employees' experience of working in the Youthreach Sector’, prepared by Dr. Bernie Grummell and Michael Kenny (Adult and Community Education, MU), and Dr. Jolanta Burke (RCSI, Dublin). A presentation “Digital Entrepreneurship for Women (DEW) to support democratic sustainable businesses in disadvantaged rural areas through community education” will be presented by Tara Farrell (Longford Women’s Link), Dr. Margaret Nugent and Michael Kenny (Adult and Community Education, MU). A presentation on “Addressing the Constraints to Marginalised and Remote Learners to Engage in Lifelong Education” will be made by Dr. Patrice McCormack and Michael Kenny (Adult and Community Education, MU). A presentation on “TUTOR - the EU Teacher Academy” Project will be presented by Dr. Margaret Nugent and Dr. Bernie Grummell (Adult and Community Education, MU).
Presenting the work of the Department is an important placeholder to disseminate research findings and progression, particularly at national fora such as the Educational Studies Association of Ireland (ESAI) 2023 Annual National Conference.
