Friday, June 28, 2013 - 00:00

The Conference Dynamics Days Europe 2013 was held at the Campus of Montegancedo of the Technical University of Madrid, on June 3-7 2013 and was given the European Physical Society Sponsored Conference label.

Following a longstanding tradition, the Conference was devoted to cover new developments in modelling, mathematical foundations, applications and experiments from all areas related to dynamical systems. Topics included nonlinear, fluid and neural dynamics, quantum chaos and pattern formation, stochastic processes and nonequilibrium statistical physics, complex networks, systems biology and econophysics.

This year, Dynamics Days counted on 307 attendees, and presentations were organized in plenary lectures (13), special sessions of Minisymposia (120), contributed talks (100) and posters (75).

As in the tradition of the event, the Conference put a special attention in promoting participation of young people coming into the field.
A long poster session was organized on Tuesday 4 June, whereas posters were on display throughout the entire event. All Conference's participants were given the opportunity to directly vote for what they considered the best poster presentation, and the results of the voting procedure were announced during the Gala Dinner of the event on Wednesday 5 June.

The EPS-sponsored prize for the best poster presented by a PhD student was awarded to Ms. Elena Green (National University of Ireland) for her poster contribution entitled "Building a triple agent mode for financial markets". The abstract of such a contribution can be find in the Conference Book of Abstracts.

The prize was given by Prof. Francisco del Pozo, Director of the Center of Biomedical Technology of the Technical University of Madrid, that was the Organizing Center of the event.
