Irish Film Institute
The Irish Film Institute is holding a screening on December 13th 6.30pm of select films from the IRC New Foundations Invisible Women project which aims to showcase women's amateur filmmaking in Ireland. The screening will introduce Sr Maureen MacMahon and her arts education films and have a short talk from her nephew Ian MacMahon and project PI, Sarah Arnold. Tickets are available here.
Sister Maureen MacMahon OP (b. 1918 in Dublin) is an artist, writer, educator, filmmaker and Dominican nun. She was, along with Owen Carton and Sean Brophy, a member of the Black Raven Film Group, which produced a number of award-winning educational and documentary films.
