A few weeks ago on 103.2 Dublin City FM radio, Carmen Élise Pocknell, a second year PhD student working with Richard Roche and Sean Commins, discussed the importance that lifestyle can have on our brains, how essential it is to stay active, and - even more importantly - that it is never too late to make a change. She outlines the group’s current research project, where adults aged 65 years and above (either cognitively healthy or living with dementia) can take part in innovative and adapted social exercise sessions, such as Tai-Chi, or Music, in Maynooth for six weeks starting from March 2023, to improve cognition and psychological health.
