Maynooth University Academics recognised by Association of American Geographers
The Association of American Geographers (AAG), the largest and most respected organisation of geographers in the world, has recognised two Maynooth University academics, conferring the AAG Media Achievement Award on Professor Rob Kitchin and naming Professor Gerry Kearns as its Distinguished Historical Geographer for 2015.

The Irish government should act immediately to respect Travellers’ right to be acknowledged as a minority ethnic group in Irish society, said Anastasia Crickley, Head of Applied Social Studies at Maynooth University and Vice President of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) at a recent seminar.
